What a Twi-geek does on the weekend

I was a geek before I was a Twi-Hard. No, you don’t understand, I mean GEEK. I’m a programmer (web developer, to be specific), which isn’t generally a domain for females. (Get mad if you want, but I’m the one that’s spent years being the only chick in the department.) Still, my co-workers think I’m the biggest geek, not my WoW/GTO-playing buddies. DH will freely admit that he initially wanted to date me because I was the first woman he ever met that knew what the Hell he was talking about (he’s a network engineer).

When this level of female geekiness meets the irresistible force that is Twilight, it generates the perfect geekgrrl storm. It can’t be stopped. It can’t even be contained. And it’s a good thing we don’t have kids yet, because at least DH can obtain his own nourishment.

So, what does a Twi-geek do on a weekend?

Um, what is this RAoR you speak of?

Um, what is this RAoR you speak of?

1) Looks at her browser history (I ❤ Google Chrome) and notices a trend. Also, she can’t decide which is worse: (a) she visits RAoR more than her own blog, or (b) RAoR isn’t first in the list.

Rob FingerPorn every time I look at Twitter *thud*

2) Creates a custom Twitter background with her favorite Rob FingerPorn and doesn’t care that it probably looks like crap on everyone else’s browsers. ‘Cause it looks perfect on hers.

(Hey, don’t tell the other web developers I didn’t do cross-browser testing. They’ll take away my membership card.)

Praying that the crazy set stalker bitches will never come back

3) Creates an avatar-sized crop of her second favorite picture from the Remember Me set then has internal debate about whether using said avatar graphic would mess up the apple “branding” she’s got going.

Screw branding - I had to use that graphic somewhere.

4) Uploads the first chapter of the fanfic she’s writing so her friend can finally read it. Then waits nervously for feedback from aforementioned friend because only DH has read it at that point, and he’ll say anything to keep her happy.

5) Posts on her blog for the first time in a week because she’s been spending too much time reading fan fiction, tweeting, and posting comments on RAoR.

  1. Um, yeah, so we are like besties now because this is the kind of stuff that I find myself doing now all the time. Coding was never my “thing” but now I’m constantly sending Bitches emails with “this is the code to do…” What a freak. Haven’t been on WoW in a while…maybe we need to create our own Twi Guild…okay not really, heh.

  2. Your weekend=My weekend.
